๐Ÿš— Delivery FAQ
What is the delivery window?
Our standard delivery window is 4pm โ€“ 6pm Monday to Sunday, so expect your cake to arrive within this timeframe on the day of delivery (give or take 30 minutes).
What happens if I'm not home during the delivery window?
Please reach out to us via email at thedessertchapter2025@gmail.com and we'll work something out with you.
What if I need the cake by noon?
We have a 24-hour cake guarantee* โ€” if you store the cake in its original box and in the fridge overnight, the cake will look and taste 100% as good, so consider having it delivered the day before or arrange to pick up in the morning.

*Does not apply to any cakes using fresh fruit as a main ingredient.
Can I specify a delivery timeframe?
We can only accommodate specific delivery timings for catering or large functions requiring multiple cakes (fees may be applicable). Alternatively, we suggest placing a pick-up order and scheduling your own UberPackage pick-up on your behalf.
What if I need to change the delivery address?
Reach out via email and we will be able to change the delivery address for you without any issues โ€” as long as it's before 10pm the day before delivery.

How do I cancel the cake I ordered?
Send us an email at thedessertchapter2025@gmail.com for us to cancel and refund your cake. Though we'd appreciate minimum 24 hours notice, we understand that things may come up suddenly, so please feel free to reach out as soon as you can.
Do you make gluten-free cakes?
Unfortunately we cannot replicate the same taste and texture with our gluten-free recipe, so we do not currently offer a gluten-free option.
Can I customize or modify the cake?
Yes! Menu items can be customized depending on the kitchen's availability. Get in touch via email or Instagram to discuss your custom order.

How long can I keep the cake in the fridge?
We recommend finishing the cake within 48 hours for the best taste and texture.
Do I need to refrigerate the cake?
Yes! Please refrigerate the cake until serving. Our cakes can be served directly from the fridge โ€” no need to bring to room temperature first.
How do I transport the cake safely while driving?
Place the cake on the floor of the car (front passenger seat floor is optimal) and drive smoothly around corners and over bumps. Do not place the cake on the car seats as they are not flat surfaces.

How do I place an order?
You can order by emailing us at thedessertchapter2025@gmail.com or DMing us on Instagram @thedessertchapter. Please allow at least 48 hours notice for all orders. Some items have minimum order quantities โ€” please check the product page for details.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Cash, e-Transfer, and Card. Payment is required to confirm your order.
How does pickup work?
Pickup is available by appointment only. We'll confirm a pickup time with you when your order is placed. Please do not arrive without a confirmed time.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes! We offer delivery within 10 km of our location in Ottawa. Delivery fees may apply. Please mention delivery when placing your order and we'll confirm availability and cost.
What is your cancellation policy?
More than 48 hours before pickup/delivery: Full refund.

24โ€“48 hours before: 50% refund. The remaining 50% covers ingredients and prep time already invested.

Less than 24 hours before: No refund. We will have already begun preparing your order.
What allergens are present in your products?
Our products contain or may contain: Dairy, Nuts (including pistachios), Gluten, and Eggs. Our kitchen is not allergen-free. If you have a severe allergy, please inform us before ordering and we will advise whether we can safely accommodate you.
